For 35 years, Echoing Green has been on the front lines of solving the world’s biggest problems, raising up the transformational leaders willing to speak truth to power and challenge the status quo. These change-makers have been driving transformative social impact across the globe. Driven by a passionate team, Echoing Green continues to empower visionary leaders and social entrepreneurs, creating a solid foundation for positive change worldwide, fostering a collaborative environment, and unlocking the potential of social innovators to address humanity’s most pressing challenges.
This year, our esteemed Founder Atim Mbah Patience, selected as one of the top 20 exceptional 2023 Echoing Green Fellow, joint the 2024 Echoing green All Fellow Convening in Ghana. Notably, this convening marked the first in-person gathering for the 2023 cohort since their fellowship, providing an opportunity for meaningful connections and collaborations. The 2024 convening brought together a community of accomplished social entrepreneurs and leaders from around the world, providing a platform for collaboration, knowledge sharing, and inspiration, providing an opportunity to scale our impact further.
Spanning different contents, some fellows are launching and growing innovative social enterprises to address some of the world’s most urgent challenges, including:
James Thuch Madhier, of Rainmaker Enterprise, is creating food security, stability, and self-sufficiency for people living in conflict-affected regions in Sudan by building climate-smart water solutions for regenerative agriculture.
Nafisa Jiddawi, of WAJAMAMA Community Health, is making safe, dignified, and empowered pregnancy, labor, and birth experiences standard for all birthing people in Zanzibar by increasing access to quality holistic health services.
Ali Anderson, of Feed Black Futures, is Eliminating food and economic insecurity for Black, jail and prison-impacted mamas and caregivers and Black farmers in California by delivering regenerative grown food and teaching about food justice and land stewardship. Her tremendous work has earned her the Echoing Green Healthy Communities Social Innovation Challenge prize.
Together, these next-generation leaders are building a more just and equitable world.
Atim Mbah’s attendance at the 2024 Echoing Green conference in Ghana showed their commitment to helping new leaders and amplifying their impact. This commitment is evident through Echoing Green’s invaluable support to Green Farmlands, empowering us to amplify our work and drive transformative change.
The Ghana convening served as a powerful reminder of the collective potential of Echoing Green’s global network, fostering connections and sparking innovative solutions to address some of humanity’s most complex issues. As Echoing Green continues to push boundaries and drive meaningful change under Cheryl Dorsay’s leadership, this gathering reinforced the importance of collaboration, resilience, and visionary leadership in shaping a better future for all.
