Sustainable Synergies: Exploring Collaboration between Green Farmlands and FXB Climate Advocate International

In recent times, organizations have recognized the value of collaboration which make use of compatible skills and abilities, strengthening programs, and improve leadership skills. By combining experiences, knowledge and skills, organizations can accomplish more than if they worked alone.  Just like most organizations, at Green Farmlands we recognize the potential benefits of collaboration.  On Wednesday 14 August 2024, the Green Farmlands team was graced by Karina Weinstein, Program Strategy & Innovation Director at FXB climate advocate. FXB International is a non-governmental organization that fights against extreme poverty through projects that strengthen resilience and adaptive capacity to climate-related hazards and natural disasters, improve education, and raise awareness on climate change mitigation and adaptation.

The meeting aimed to explore potential collaboration opportunities between Green Farmlands and FXB International, focusing on sustainable farming practices, climate resilience, and community development. Fortu Rahab, Project assistant at Green Farmlands provided an in-depth presentation on the organization’s mission, objectives, team, and major projects, including our most recent project which is the Green Basket Project. This project aims to provide market access to local farmers and a platform where consumers can conveniently shop for fresh Groceries using their mobile devices in the comfort of their homes and offices and have it delivered to them. Karina expressed interest in some of our projects, seeking further information through a Q&A session on Project implementation strategies, Community engagement and participation, Climate resilience and adaptation measures, and Impact assessment and monitoring.

Karina gained a deeper understanding of Green Farmlands’ project implementation, including Challenges faced and overcome, Success stories and best practices, and Opportunities for scaling up and replication. The meeting explored potential areas of collaboration between Green Farmlands and FXB International, including project implementation, Knowledge sharing and capacity building, Advocacy, and awareness raising.

The meeting between Green Farmlands and Karina Weinstein from FXB International marked a promising step towards potential collaboration and knowledge sharing between the two organizations. By exploring opportunities for possible collaboration, capacity building, and advocacy, both organizations can leverage their expertise and resources to drive positive change in the communities they serve. We recognize too that such collaborations come with challenges such as the lack of trust, unstable momentum, and ineffective communication. Knowing this will prepare us to incorporate strategies to enable us create a successful collaboration.
